When FrightFest was first created, the mission statement was simple: A film festival run by horror fans for horror fans, and all these years later, this has not changed. Filmmakers and distributors see this and understand the unique opportunity it gives them to showcase their films to a passionate, vocal, like-minded crowd that keeps growing. Contrary to what our name might suggest, FrightFest is not solely about horror. Our audience has a diverse taste, enjoying fantasy, sci-fi, and even the occasional bloody thriller. We offer four distinct strands: Main, Discovery, First Blood, and Short Films. And to answer a common question, we prefer short films under 20 minutes in length.
